Still on the trail but Charlie Ross has not been found

I thought I would update to say I plan to compile all the information I have so far into a book form. I am still hoping, probably in vain, that someone will appear to give me the information I need but, beyond that, it seems time to collate, compile and create a story from the information that we have. There are some avenues being pursued but with faint hope of delivering much. We are looking at Charlie's signatures for the birth records of his five children and his marriage certificate to see if my earlier conclusions about his name definitely starting with ROS are correct. Without an accurate surname it is not even a needle in a haystack but a needle in a thousand haystacks.
